BIG STAMPIN' UP! NEWS: Stampin' Up! announced at the Demonstrator Leadership Conference last month that starting this year, they have eliminated the Summer Mini Catalog. The future Holiday and Spring Minis will be bigger and last longer (5 months vs. 4, much easier on my brain). The annual catalog (new In Colors, stamps, designer series paper--woo hoo) will start a month earlier (June 1, 2012) and the Holiday Mini will start a month earlier as well (August 1, 2012--better timing for Halloween and fall projects). I'm really excited about this simplified schedule!

In addition, the Simply Adorned and Décor Elements lines will be discontinued when the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog retires. I am excited to share with you the card I have made for this blog hop. I used the "Everyday Enchantment" DSP that will be available for you to earn for FREE starting Jan 24. Also, I used the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (also earned for FREE starting Jan 24 to Mar 31). I used the Stampin' Markers to re-create the images in the DSP. I kept wondering if people might think I just cut this image out of the DSP since they look so similiar. Leave me a comment and let me know!

I also used the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack (also earned for FREE during Sale-a-Bration starting Jan 24) as an extra accent to my card. It was a really simple card, yet I love how it turned out.

3D Christmas Tree Card

Today, I am going to share with you 3D Christmas Tree Card. I used the Designer Series Paper and Dazzling Details (item #124117) around the edge to make the tree bling. I also used the Christmas Lodge Stamp Set (clear mount, item #123769; wood mount, item #123767) for my greeting using Basic Black Ink...the shadow effect was just stamped twice, but slightly off.

Next, is a very similiar card, but I added a Rhinestone Brad on the top of the tree.

Stampin UP! Lolly/Medallion Flower

Today, I want to share some tips about making Lolly/Medallion Flowers using Stampin' UP! Simply Scored (item #122334, Holiday Mini).

Recipe for making the Happy Birthday Lolly/Medallion Flower:

Take any of Stampin' UP! Designer Series Paper of your choice and cut 2 strips of 1-1/2" x 12" and score each pieces @ 1/4" on the long side.
I used the Crop-a-Dile (item #108362, IBC page 207) to punch holes so I can thread the linen thread (item #104199, IBC page 194) and pull them together to form the flower.
Second layer, I used Stampin' UP! Pumpkin Pie cardstock (item #105117, IBC page 177) and cut 1 strip of 1-1/4" x 12" and 1 strip of 1-1/4" x 6".
The Happy birthday was stamped and punched out using Curly Label Punch (item #119851, IBC page 209) and using the Movers & Shapers Curly Label (item #114506, IBC page 221) for the black layering piece which is slightly larger.

Recipe for making the Scallop Circle Lolly/Medallion flower:

Take any of Stampin' UP! Designer Series Paper of your choice and cut 2 strips of 1-3/4" x 12" and score each pieces @ 1/4" on the long side.
The scallop circle was punched out using 1-3/4" scallop circle punch (item #119854, IBC, page 210) from Whisper White Cardstock (item #100730, IBC page 180)
TIPS: Since the piece was scored @ 1/4", the depth is 1/4"..using Stampin' UP! beautiful brads of your choice will work well in securing the pieces. You can either find brads here or on clearance rack for up to 70% off!!

Recipe for the Lolly/Medallion Flower on the left:

Measurement: 2 pieces of 1" x 12" Stampin' UP! Designer Series Paper , score @ 1/2"
TIPS: Since the strips are scored @ 1/2", the depth is 1/2" (a little taller), and therefore, need 2 pieces to complete the flower.

Recipe for the Lolly/Medallion Flower on the right:

Measurement: 1 piece of 1" x 12" Stampin' UP! Designer Series Paper , score @ 1/4"
TIPS: This is the perfect size to use on the cards or even on scrapbook pages!
You will need to use strong adhesive either Sticky Strip (item #104294, IBC page 206) or Sticky Sheet (item #114300, IBC page 216) to connect the 2 strips - mountain-valley-mountain-valley, etc

MOJO214 Stampin' Up! Ice Cream Happy Birthday Card

This week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO214) calls for mixing a combination of shapes and elements. Feel free to be creative. I replaced the flower with an ice cream cone using the create-a-cupcake punch. If you look closely, my sentiment "kinda" looks like a candy in its wrapper. Isn't that perfect for an fun Happy Birthday Card? Here is the sketch:

To re-create this card:

you will need the greeting from Create a Cupcake (Clear Mount, item #121982, IBC page 68) inked with Choc. Chip Classic Ink Pad (item #100908, IBC page 180) on Whisper White Cardstock (item #100730, page 180). Then punched it out using Decorative Label Punch (item #120907, IBC page 209). Layer the punched out pieces together and to make it look like candy in its wrapper, I punched out a Extra-Large Oval (item #119859, IBC page 212) from Pretty in Pink Cardstock (item #100459, IBC page 178). I cut the Extra-Large Oval Piece in half (horizontally) and carefully adhere them so it would look like the body of a candy.
To create the Ice Cream Cone, I used the Cupcake Builder (item #121807, IBC page 213) and Petite Pennants Builder Punch (item #122361, IBC page 213)

PPA119 Glass Ornament with re-inkers and glitters

This week, Pals Paper Arts challenge is asking for holiday-related projects. The image to the right is the inspiration for this week's challenge.

This is my first time participating in Pals Paper Arts, so I am not quite sure if my projects are "qualified" seeing it's not really made with "papers." However, they are definitely holiday-related projects inspired by the color theme.

Of course, I gotta incorporate stamping into this project somehow. So here is the image from Delightful Decoration Stamp Set (item #116517) inked with Versa Mark Ink Pad (item #102283) and embossed with gold embossing powder (item #109129) on Medium Window Sheet (item #114323) using the Heat Gun (item #100005). Now can you image putting the picture of your loved ones into the glass ornament? It will be the best ornament on your Christmas Tree!!
